IES partners with Empower to offer pre-tax and Roth 401(k) deferrals.

Eligibility
Full-time and part-time employees are eligible to participate in the IES 401(k) Plan after 30 days of service following the date of hire.
Leased, non-resident alien, and union employees, and residents of Puerto Rico, are not eligible to participate.

Enrollment
Employees may enroll in the IES 401(k) Plan at any time during employment. Employees must enroll directly with Empower to participate.
Employees can call 1-800-338-4015 for easy-to-use, automated telephone service to access retirement plan account information. Employees will need to provide: Social Security number, last name, date of birth, zip code, and numeric portion of street address to register and create a user ID and password. To speak to a representative, call Monday – Friday 9am to 8pm EST.

Online Access
The Empower website connects employees to plan account information, statements, transactions, and final resource tools. Participants can enroll, change, revoke, or suspend contributions through the Empower website, mobile app, or by calling the participant call center.

401(k) Contributions
Contributions are voluntary and processed only through payroll deductions. The 401(k) Plan allows employees to contribute up to 100% of pay, less any mandated taxes, up to the IRS annual limit. Additionally, participants who are at least 50 years of age within the calendar year can make an additional catch-up contribution set by the IRS.
Contributions may be made on a pre-tax basis, Roth (after-tax) basis, or any combination of both if the combined total does not exceed 100% of compensation per pay period up to the IRS annual limit.
IES does not offer an employer match.

Vesting
Employee salary deferrals are 100% vested.

Rollovers
Rollovers from another qualified plan or IRA can be made by going to the “withdrawal” section of the Employer website. Restrictions are subject to the plan.

Distributions
Funds are distributed upon retirement, death, disability, or termination of employment (with qualifying options).

Withdrawals
Withdrawals are only allowed for those in service (59.5 years of age) or those in financial hardships (IRS regulations and plan limits apply).

IES Plan Investment Advisor
IES partners with Assurance, a Marsh & McLennan agency, to monitor, benchmark, and advise on the plan and its investments. Assurance also provides education and guidance to participants on the plan including investments.
Assurance is available to assist you with questions. Online resources, including articles, videos, and webinars on a variety of financial topics, are also available. Webinars can be viewed live, while past webinars can be viewed as playbacks.
